MMP graduates: Ongoing Research

In a recent online symposium, cutting-edge insights emerged on the convergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced medical imaging techniques, underscoring the global collaboration that defines modern scientific exploration. Natalia Villegas, currently pursuing her doctoral studies in Trieste, Italy, took center stage, unraveling the intricacies of AI’s transformative role in medical physics. Her discourse delved into the potential applications of AI in various medical domains, offering a glimpse into the promising future where machine intelligence augments diagnostic and therapeutic processes.

Shifting continents to South America, the virtual gathering also featured a profound exploration into the management of Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) images for functional radiotherapy treatments. The session given by Rosa Petit at the Zunino Institute in Córdoba, Argentina, illuminated the meticulous orchestration of DTI data for optimizing radiotherapy interventions. Attendees were immersed in the nuances of leveraging DTI images to enhance precision in targeting tumors, reflecting the institute’s commitment to advancing therapeutic strategies through innovative imaging practices.
